Flu Vaccination Programme
What is the Flu Vaccination Programme?
Each year Glasgow Life provides an opportunity for staff to receive the flu vaccination.
We are again pleased to offer the opportunity for all Glasgow Life colleagues to participate in the Flu Vaccination Programme for Autumn/Winter 2026.
Flu Vaccinations 2026
Our Flu Vaccination Programme for 2026 is now open.
You will be able to participate by requesting a voucher. Vouchers are valid until 30th November 2026.
Please read the information below to find out how to participate.
As we have a limited number of vouchers, we ask that if you qualify for a free flu vaccination through the NHS, please take advantage of it. This will enable us to help as many colleagues as possible to receive the vaccine. There is more information below about eligibility and booking an appointment with the NHS.
Who is eligible to participate in this programme?
All Glasgow Life colleagues can participate in this programme. However, some people are entitled to a vaccine through the NHS. You’ll be offered the NHS flu vaccine this year if you’re:
- living in long-stay residential care homes or other long-stay care facilities
- aged 65 and over
- aged 18 to 64 with an eligible health condition
- experiencing homelessness or substance misuse
- an asylum seeker living in a Home Office hotel or B&B accommodation
- living in a Scottish prison
- pregnant
- a frontline health and social care worker
- a non-frontline NHS worker
- an unpaid and young carer
- a household contact of someone with a weakened immune system
- a poultry worker or bird handler
- a cattle or swine worker
If you belong to one of the above groups, we would ask that you access your vaccination through the NHS to enable as many colleagues as possible to get their vaccine. There is more information about eligibility and how to book your appointment on the NSH Inform website (link below, under "Further information and guidance".
How to request a voucher
To request your voucher, please email fluvaccination@glasgowlife.org.uk with the following information:
- Your name
- SAP number
- the email address that you wish the voucher to be sent to
You will receive a vaccination voucher by email that you can redeem at a Boots store on a date/time that suits you.
Please note that the above email address is extremely busy and it may take a few days for the team to reply to you.
What to do when you receive your voucher
As the vouchers are only valid until 30th November 2026, we highly recommend that you book your appointment as soon as you receive your voucher. If you leave it too late, there may not be any appointments left.
Once you have received your voucher:
1. Book your appointment online
Click the link on your voucher to answer a few simple questions, to help Boots check the service is suitable for you, then book your appointment. Appointment availability is updated regularly so if there are none available in your chosen store, try again later in the day. Alternatively, check availability in other participating Boots stores.
2. Attend your appointment
Tell the pharmacy team member that you are using the corporate flu vaccination scheme and have your voucher available to show in store if required.
3. Your Boots vaccinator will confirm a few details and carry out the vaccination
The flu vaccination is suitable for most people; the pharmacist can help with any questions.
If you are no longer going to use your voucher
Vouchers are only valid until 30th November 2026.
If you are no longer going to use your voucher, please return it to fluvaccination@glasgowlife.org.uk as soon as possible so that we can reallocate it to someone else. Thank you.
If we run out of vouchers
We only have a limited number of vouchers available to please only request a voucher if you are certain that you will use it.
The vouchers will be released in two batches in order to let colleagues on leave access a voucher.
When the first batch is release, there will be no waiting list once all the vouchers have been allocated.
The second batch will be released a week later. If you didn't get a voucher in the first batch, this is your opportunity to get one. Please note that if you already sent a request during the release of the first batch and didn't get a voucher, you will need to submit another request on this date.
Once we have allocated the vouchers in the second batch,, we will create a waiting list to re-allocate returned vouchers.
