Flying beyond the expectations of their instruments, Malin Lewis is carving a fresh path through the Scottish folk scene. For a special Celtic Connections concert Malin gathers a harmony of strings and reeds with percussion for a new live sound that feels bigger and more joyful than ever before. Driven by an unflinching passion for their craft and a belief in the power of music to bring people together through sound, Malin creates performances that are as emotionally dynamic as they are physically compelling. Rooted in Scottish tradition yet always reaching outwards, their music invites audiences into a world of intensity, connection and collective release.
Mairearad Green's new album sounds as old as it does contemporary, and it relates as much to this moment as to the past through the use of low-fi recording techniques and timeless instruments such as the small pipes. With haunting vocals, small pipes and accordion, Mairearad will be joined by multi-instrumentalist Mike Vass.
