FAQs - Venue closure information
Three venues will host sports competitions:
- Tollcross International Swimming Centre – Swimming & Para Swimming
- Glasgow International Arena and Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome – Track Cycling, Para Track Cycling & Artistic Gymnastics
- Scotstoun Sports Campus – Athletics & Para Athletics
In addition, the Tennis Hall at Glasgow Club Gorbals is being used for Opening and Closing Ceremony rehearsals.
While the three competition venues will be unavailable during the published closure dates, Glasgow Club membership continues to give you access to all other Glasgow Club venues across the city. Some venues may be slightly busier than usual, so it’s a good idea to make the most of your member benefit and book your activities up to 7 days in advance to secure your space.
You can also access fitness at home in our app, giving you plenty of ways to keep active. If you’d like help choosing an alternative, our venue team will be happy to help, or you can contact our Customer Experience team at glasgow.club@glasgowlife.org.uk
You can find information on which facilities are available at each event venue (and when) here.
- Website pages - we have created a special page on the Glasgow Life website as the single source of information, detailing all you need to know about the impact of the Games on our venues as well as other Games related information. You can find this here.
- Signage in venues
- Glasgow Life social media channels
In addition, Glasgow Club members will receive updates through:
- In-app notifications (Don’t miss out, read our guide on managing notifications)
- Email updates
- Glasgow Club social media channels
- Glasgow Club website
We’re working hard to keep fitness classes running with as little disruption as possible. Many classes will move to nearby venues, and we’ll highlight suitable alternatives if any timetable changes affect you.
You can also work out in the comfort of your own home with our virtual club GlasgowClub+ which you'll find in our app. It’s included with all FitClub and ActivClub membership plans and you can cast videos from our app to your smart TV, laptop or other large screen.
You can enjoy:
- On-demand classes such as Les Mills, yoga, Pilates, Step, LBT and more
- Targeted workouts including stretching, core and warm-ups
We hope the range of alternative venues and virtual options makes it easy for you to stay active during this period. If travelling isn’t practical for you, you can stop your direct debit instruction to pay Culture & Sport Glasgow at your bank any time after your June payment has been collected and before the next payment date on 7 July.
You’re always welcome to re-join at a time that suits you, and we’ll be happy to support you when you’re ready to return.
If we need to make any changes, we’ll contact families directly with clear options. Your space will be protected and reinstated as soon as the venue returns to its usual programme.
To make sure you don’t miss any important updates, please let your local coordinator know if you’ve changed your email recently.
Our team will contact you to discuss your booking and any suitable alternatives. We’ll do our very best to accommodate your group in a nearby venue, as we do whenever events take place.
